In a significant leadership move, Meta (formerly Facebook) has appointed Arun Srinivas as the new Managing Director and Head of India, effective July 1, 2025. With this appointment, Meta aims to strengthen its presence and strategic direction in one of its largest and fastest-growing markets.
Arun Srinivas brings a wealth of experience in marketing and business leadership, having previously held senior roles at Reebok, Unilever (HUL), and Ola. At Meta, he will oversee the company’s business operations across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, with a focus on scaling advertising revenues, deepening partnerships with Indian brands and creators, and expanding digital adoption among small businesses.
His leadership comes at a time when Meta is heavily investing in AI, short-form video (Reels), social commerce, and business messaging, while also navigating data privacy regulations and increasing competition in the Indian digital ecosystem.
India remains a critical market for Meta with over 400 million users across its platforms. Srinivas’s experience in brand strategy and digital transformation is expected to drive Meta’s next phase of growth and innovation in the region.
